Cinder Cone Volcano
Another type of volcano is called Cinder Cone. This volcano looks like a bowl and has steep sides to it, it can only have one vent unlike the Shield Volcano! This volcano has a big violent eruption.
It normally reaches the height of about 1000 feet, it is the smallest of the three types of volcanoes! Cinder Cone volcanoes blow ash, when it erupts the ash breaks into pieces and fall directly toward the ground.

Composite Volcano
The last volcano of the three is the Composite Volcano
(Strata Cone). This volcano has the shape of a cone, and is symmetrical. It has layers of ash, rock and lava, It blows out both ash and lava!
Between eruptions the volcanoes seem dormant and they can erupt either violently or gently! Some of the largest volcanoes in the world are Composite volcanoes, composite volcanoes are located at subduction zones.
